IPOH: Police have arrested a 61-year-old man in Genting Highlands suspected of murdering his brother and his wife in a house in Bercham.
Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said an axe believed to be murder weapon was also found.
He said the arrest was made at about 7.45pm on Thursday (July 7).
He said the suspect also had a previous record of causing injuries under Section 325 of the Penal Code.
“The suspect will be remanded at the magistrate’s court on Friday (July 8).
“With his arrests and the murder weapon discovered, we managed to solve the case in 11 hours after the gruesome killings,” he said.
Comm Mior Faridalathrash said his urine test came out negative for any drug substance intake.
He thanked the Pahang police, Resort World Genting management, the media and public for their assistance.
On Thursday, a report was lodged by the male victim’s eldest brother who found the two victims covered with blood in the living room of their house in Taman Bercham Aman.
Police believed the murders happened on Wednesday (July 6) night.
A manhunt was carried out to nab the suspect who was last seen driving one of the victim’s cars.
