PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 3,913 new Covid-19 infections on Sunday (Nov 6), bringing the total number of cases in the country to 4,927,451 since the pandemic began.
The Health Ministry’s KKMNow portal reported that 3,909 of Sunday’s new Covid-19 cases were locally transmitted and there were four imported infections.
Data on the ministry’s GitHub data repository shows that this is the first time in four days that daily cases have dropped below the 4,000 mark.
KKMNow reported that 3,774 individuals recovered from Covid-19 on Sunday, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 4,854,248 since the pandemic began.
It also reported that there are 36,716 active Covid-19 infections in the country, as at 11.59pm Sunday.
Some 35,039 individuals, or 95.4% of active cases are observing home quarantine while 1,610 have been warded in hospitals nationwide.
There are currently 67 Covid-19 patients, or 0.1% of active cases, seeking treatment at intensive care units (ICU), with 17 unventilated and 50 requiring ventilator support.
Malaysia’s current overall ICU utilisation rate stands at 60.2% nationwide.
Meanwhile, the GitHub data repository showed that there were five deaths due to Covid-19 on Sunday, including two classified as brought-in-dead.
Two Covid-19 deaths each were recorded in Johor and Kedah, while the remaining one was recorded in Selangor.
This brings the total number of fatalities due to Covid-19 in the country to 36,487 since the pandemic began.
