PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 224 new Covid-19 infections on Thursday (Feb 23), says the Health Ministry.
The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Friday (Feb 24) that this brings the new total to 5,041,811 cases since the pandemic began.
Of the 224, one was an imported case and the remaining 223 were local.
The ministry also said through its KKMNow portal that there were 278 recoveries on Thursday bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 9,270.
Of the active cases, 96.6% or 8,952 individuals were undergoing home quarantine, while 3.3% of active cases or 309 individuals needed to be hospitalised, with nine warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.
Out of the nine, seven require ventilator support.
