PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 3,457 new Covid-19 infections on Thursday (Nov 17), says the Health Ministry.
The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Friday (Nov 18) that this brings the new total to 4,960,179 cases since the pandemic began.
Of the 3,457, two were imported cases while 3,455 were local.
The ministry also said through its KKMNow portal that there were 3,736 recoveries on Thursday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 27,877.
Of the active cases, 92.6% or 25,818 individuals were undergoing home quarantine, while 7.1% of active cases or 1,970 individuals needed to be hospitalised, with 89 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.
Of that number, 46 require ventilator support.
A total of nine deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of deaths since the pandemic began to 36,583.
