An Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be imposed at a hostel for the staff of Tropicana Corporation Berhad in Petaling Jaya, from 12.01 am, Monday (Oct 12).

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, however, the lockdown order until Oct 25 to contain the spread of COVID-19, would not affect those staying at the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort.

Meanwhile, he said, the One Utama shopping mall in Petaling Jaya would also be closed for seven days beginning Monday for sanitisation and screening processes to take place.

“This measure is to curb the spread of COVID-19, some 500 employees and 800 individuals involved will be screened,” he said at an online press conference here today.

Earlier, four positive COVID-19 cases were reportedly detected at One Utama, involving staff of a boutique, while staff from the Tropicana Golf Club & Country Resort were also confirmed positive.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said all contact sports activities in red zones and areas under EMCO would be temporarily banned, while in the green and yellow zones, they would be allowed in accordance with the prescribed SOP.

On enforcement operations yesterday, he said 450 individuals were detained for flouting the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), including 21 for engaging in prostitution and 21 for going against SOPs in an EMCO area.

He said the ‘Ops Benteng’ operation to protect the country’s borders saw the detention of 49 illegal immigrants, with a boat and three vehicles seized.
