A FORMER convict, who has been in and out of prison 10 times since 2015, is eager to turn over a new leaf by working as a cook, Metro Ahad reported.
Beh Chee Seng, 45, was released from Kajang prison in April.
He has since been recruited by a hotel in Genting Highlands and given a chance to start afresh.
“The employer is very understanding and even asked what sort of work I would like to do.
“Since I used to be a cook, I chose the same type of job,” he said.
During his first week at his new workplace, Beh said he was y told to clock in at 9am and leave at 5pm as a form of discipline training.
Beh said he had previously run foul of the law after getting involved in drugs and crimes, resulting in him being in and out of prison 10 times. He said he wanted to start life anew and was grateful to the company for hiring him.
> Rising star Sophia Albarakbah is not about to take on any acting role despite getting a number of offers since becoming an actress three years ago, BH Ahad reported.
“There is no point in grabbing all the offers if the outcome of work is not satisfying.
“I am more comfortable giving attention to the acting demands of a single character so as not to cause problems to others and the production company,” said Sophia, 29.
She has appeared in the drama Suamiku Lelaki Pendosa and movie Miimaland, among others.
Her latest drama is Cinta Hilang Kata, which also stars actor Shahz Jaszle.
