YOUNG Indian karate exponents took home eight gold medals at the 18th International Okinawa Goju Ryu Ipoh City Karate Open Championship 2022, Malaysia Nanban reported.
The students were among more than 100 international exponents who took part in the online competition.
Selangor Karate-Do Goju Kai trainer Master S. Prabakaran said the Selangor contingent took home an additional four silver and seven bronze medals on top of their gold medals.
The 18th edition of the competition held online between May 27 and 29 was a boon for students who were still unable to travel overseas for such competitions due to the pandemic related restric-tions.
