MINA: All 14,306 Malaysian haj pilgrims have performed the wuquf ritual (grand assembly) at Arafah on the 8th day of Zulhijjah.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Idris Ahmad said that besides the healthy pilgrims, there were 26 patients.
“This year, Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) continues its efforts to ensure the completion of haj for the sick and ailing pilgrims through the implementation of the Wukuf Safari, which was introduced in 2016.
“It aims to bring the sick to perform the wuquf in Arafah by continuing the process of treating patients in the ambulance and bus provided,” he told Bernama at the TH Syishah Health Centre, Makkah yesterday.
Idris said as of Saturday, a total of 32 people have been treated at the TH Syisyah Health Centre and another one at a hospital in Mina.
He praised the medical facilities and services for the comfort of the pilgrims.
“After performing wuquf and ‘mabit’ (spending the night) in Muzdalifah on the 8th and 9th day of Zulhijjah, all Malaysian haj pilgrims are currently in Mina to perform the stoning of the devil rituals from the 10th day until the 13th day of Zulhijjah,” he added.
