INDIAN students who score straight As in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) exams this year will receive a RM1,000 reward from MIC, Makkal Osai reported.
This was announced by former MIC deputy president Datuk Seri SK Devamany during his speech at a motivational seminar hosted by the Maju Institute of Educational Development (MIED).
Devamany said MIC president Tan Sri S. Vigneswaran had requested he announce the incentive on his behalf.
The reward would be disbursed through MIED, he added.
MIED has to date given out about RM170mil in the form of scholarships and loans to benefit students of Indian descent, he said.
Meanwhile, about 2,000 students from secondary schools in the Klang Valley participated in the seminar.
