The government has decided to place Selayang Baru in Gombak, Selangor under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) from today until May 3.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (picture) said the decision which was made on advice of the Ministry of Health (MoH) involves six parcels, namely:

Zone A        : Jalan Indah 3 and Jalan Indah 5A, Selayang Indah 

Zone B        : Jalan Indah 21, Lembah Indah, Selayang Baru

Zone C        : Jalan Besar Selayang Baru, Jalan 1 and Jalan Indah 21, Selayang Baru

Zone D        : Jalan 3, 5, 7 and 9, Selayang Baru

Zone E        : Jalan 2, 4, 6 and 8, Selayang Baru

Zone F         : Blok A, B and C, Selayang Makmur

“The seventh EMCO is carried out to contain COVID-19 infection, taking into account the probability of COVID-19 transmission from Pasar Harian Kuala Lumpur and Pasar Borong Kuala Lumpur (Kuala Lumpur daily and wholesale markets),” he said at the MCO daily media briefing today.

He said the EMCO would enable detection activity to be carried out and all residents should remain calm and give full cooperation to the MOH personnel and adhere to directives issued by authorities.

Ismail Sabri said he was also informed by Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun that food aid had been distributed in the area this morning.

“Residents who need help or have any queries can contact Gombak district disaster hotline at  03-6120 1092, 03-6126 1500 or the district police headquarters’ control centre at 03-6126 2247, 03-6126 2240,” he said.

The government had, previously, placed  Pusat Bandar Utara and the Selayang wholesale market surrounding areas under EMCO from April 20 until May 3.

The EMCO is also carried out in five other areas until April 28, namely:

  1. Kampung Dato Ibrahim Majid and Bandar Baharu Dato Ibrahim Majid, Simpang Renggam, Johor
  2. Kampung Sungai Lui, Hulu Langat, Selangor
  3. Menara City One, Kuala Lumpur.
  4. Bangunan Selangor Mansion and Malayan Mansion, Kuala Lumpur
  5. Masjid India in Kuala Lumpur and surrounding areas including Jalan Munshi Abdullah, Jalan Dang Wangi, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Tun Perak, Jalan Melaka and Jalan Ampang
