A MAN in Hubei, China, sent Internet users into fits of laughter after he queued up for an hour to get a PCR test – only to find out the line was for a dairy snack, China Press reported.
Identified only by his surname Wu, the man tried to get a PCR test at a hospital on Aug 31.
There were several queues outside the hospital then. Without checking, Wu randomly joined a line. For the next one hour, he was engrossed on his phone.
When it was nearly his turn, Wu was surprised to find out that the line was meant for those who wanted to get dairy sticks, a popular snack in China.
Wu shared his experience online, saying that he saw the humour in it. He also acknowledged his own carelessness.
> King of Mandopop Jay Chou shared a photo of his wife sitting next to their seven-year-old daughter during her piano practice, saying that it reminded him of his early days when he was learning the piano with his mother nearby.
“Practising while being accompanied by her mother. This reminds me of how I used to practise in the past,” he wrote, as reported by Sin Chew Daily.
Chou, who is a prolific composer, had always credited his success to his mother Ye Hui Mei, an art teacher who nurtured his love for music.
In an earlier interview, Chou had said that practising the piano with his mother by his side was one of the most precious memories.
“When I was young, my mother would create her art while I practised the piano next to her. This is one of my fondest memories of my childhood.
“I am lucky to have grown up in an environment filled with the arts and my mother was my biggest influence,” he said.
Chou married model-actress Hannah Quinlivan in 2015. They have three children.
> Hong Kong singer Gillian Chung says she regrets not having children, reported Sin Chew Daily.
“I never made the choice (to have kids). That is why I do not have any now and I regret it,” said Chung, 41.
Chung was previously married to cosmetologist Dr Michael Lai for 14 months. They divorced in 2020.
“When I was in my 20s, I thought, ‘If I have children, how would it affect my music group?’ ”
Chung is a member of Cantopop duo Twins along with Charlene Choi. The pair reached the height of their popularity in the early 2000s before branching out into acting.
