A TEACHER from SJK(T) Pusat Telok Datok in Banting has won the gold medal in a national teaching innovation competition, Malaysia Nanban reported.
Kasthuri Sekaran won the award at the competition in Bagan Datuk.
School headmaster R. Ganesh said Kasthuri entered the competition to keep students engaged. The recognition has made the school and community proud, Ganesh said.
> A policeman in Tamil Nadu beat up a man whose spit accidentally hit his uniform, Malaysia Nanban reported.
The police officer who was identified as John Lewis, 28, was cycling home after work in his uniform.
A customer at a roadside stall identified as Balachandran, 45, spit on the floor just as the policeman was passing.
John, who was furious that his uniform was soiled, confronted the man who explained that he was trying to discharge some phlegm.
Not accepting this explanation, John beat up Balachandran.
The incident which was captured by motorists and passersby on their phones quickly went viral resulting in the attacker being suspended.
The victim has been hospitalised for treatment.
