A total of 309,687 account holders in 274 areas in Petaling, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat and Sepang will experience unscheduled water supply disruptions after the operations of two water treatment plants (LRA) were suspended due to pollution at Sungai Semenyih.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) corporate communications chief Elina Baseri said the two LRAs involved were in Sungai Semenyih and Bukit Tampoi.

“Air Selangor has also activated its Emergency Response Plan (ERP) to provide assistance to affected users,” she said in a statement here today.

Elina said Air Selangor had lodged a report with Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (LUAS) and actions to identify the cause of the raw water pollution at Sungai Semenyih and nearby tributaries are ongoing.

She said Air Selangor could not determine how long it would take for the LRAs to resume operation nor when water supply would resume as normal.

“Air Selangor will provide updates on the incident from time to time on all platforms, especially the media, “ she added.

For updates on the situation, consumers can refer to the Air Selangor Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or visit the website www.airselangor.com for any inquiry and assistance.
